8 recalls across 7 model years
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S has 8 recalls covering 2012 through 2021 model years, with the most serious being a fire risk on 2017-2021 vehicles where humidity enters the climate control system's external coolant pump, causes an electrical short circuit, and can ignite a fire.
The 2021 model year also has a front suspension recall where the lower trailing arms were not forged correctly and can break while driving, causing loss of vehicle control. A separate 2021 recall covers rear seatbelt retractors that can fail to properly secure a child restraint system, reducing protection in a crash.
On 2018 models, two recalls apply. The brake pad wear indicator can fail to alert the driver when pads are worn down, leaving the driver without adequate stopping power and no warning. There is also an electrical issue that can impair driveability and raise the risk of a crash.
Going back to 2012-2016 production, there are three issues. An electrical short in those earlier model years similarly raises the risk of fire. The gear position indicator can misread the transmission state, so if a driver exits the vehicle believing it is in Park when it is not, the vehicle can roll away unexpectedly. The 2012-2016 models are also covered under a broader headlight adjustment recall affecting multiple Porsche models from that era, where headlights can be aimed too low to illuminate the road adequately or too high to avoid blinding oncoming drivers.
