SKODA 120LS Recalls

The Skoda 120LS has 3 recalls all affecting the 1983 model year, with the most serious being front seatbelt anchor bolts that can strip out of their threaded seats in a crash, allowing the belt to pull free and fail to restrain the occupant. A plastic washer interferes with the bolt seating, preventing the anchors from being tightened to the proper torque, so the bolts can work loose over time and give way under collision forces. The 1983 model also has a compliance recall covering windshield retention, brake hydraulics, vehicle identification, and occupant protection standards, meaning these vehicles were found not to meet Canadian safety regulations as delivered. Separately, the evaporative emission system uses hose nipples that can crack and release fuel vapors into the atmosphere rather than containing them.
