The 2014 Subaru Impreza has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk on turbocharged models where a faulty relay causes the secondary air injection pump to run continuously, overheat, and melt.
On the engine side, the valve springs can fracture, which causes an engine malfunction or a sudden stall while driving, raising the risk of a crash. A third recall covers the brake light switch, which can fail to illuminate the brake lights when the driver presses the pedal, leaving following drivers without any warning that the vehicle is slowing or stopping.
