The Suzuki SFV650 has 3 recalls covering 2009–2015 model years, with the most serious being an engine defect on 2013–2014 models where tappet and camshaft wear can cause the engine to stall without warning while riding, raising the risk of a crash.
The 2013–2015 model years also have a fuel tank breather hose that can kink, allowing pressure to build inside the tank until it cracks and leaks fuel, creating a fire risk. This issue applies to motorcycles built within specific production windows across those three model years. On 2009–2010 models, an electrical fault can also cause the engine to stall unexpectedly while riding, carrying the same crash risk as the later mechanical issue.
