The Suzuki SFV650 has 3 recalls covering 2009–2015 model years, with the most serious being a fuel tank breather hose on 2013–2015 models that can kink, allow pressure to build inside the tank, crack the tank, and leak fuel in a way that raises the risk of fire.
On 2013–2014 models, internal engine wear on the tappets and camshaft can progress to the point where the engine stalls without warning while riding. The 2009–2010 model years have a separate electrical system issue that can also cause the engine to cut out unexpectedly while underway, with both conditions carrying the same risk of a crash from sudden power loss.
