3 recalls across 3 model years
The Suzuki XL-7 has 3 recalls covering the 2003–2006 model years, with the most serious affecting 2003 models where the ignition wiring harness can rub against the intake manifold, wear through its insulation, and cause a short that blows the ignition fuse and shuts the engine off while driving.
On 2005–2006 models, a drive belt tension pulley with a plastic outer section can deteriorate from repeated heat exposure, shed fragments, and jam the drive belt off its path. When the belt comes off, the power steering pump loses assistance and the driver has to apply significantly more steering effort, raising the risk of a crash. Air conditioning compressor-equipped vehicles are also affected by this pulley failure.
