TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA Recalls

The Toyota Camry Solara has 4 recalls spanning the 1988-2012 model years, the most serious being a fire risk on 2006-2008 models equipped with aftermarket seat heaters where a damaged copper heating element can short circuit and ignite. On 2004-2005 models with the 1MZ-FE or 3MZ-FE engine, the power steering pump belt can slip off its pulley, causing the steering to suddenly stiffen and become difficult to control. The 2007 model year has a curtain side airbag recall where the tether strap inside the front pillar may have been routed incorrectly during assembly, preventing the front portion of the airbag from fully deploying in a side impact or rollover. The 2004 model year also has a compliance label issue where the printed weight ratings on the vehicle sticker are incorrect.
