3 recalls across 3 model years
The Toyota Tercel has 3 recalls spanning the 1980–1990 model years, with the most serious affecting 1980 models in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces, where rear control arms can rust through in high-corrosion environments, deform, and compromise rear wheel control while driving.
The two remaining recalls both involve headlight bulb compatibility, affecting 1987 and 1990 model years respectively. On these vehicles, replacing the headlamp bulbs with any brand other than Koito-branded bulbs can cause interference with the headlamp housing or result in light output that falls below the required standard, reducing forward illumination and visibility for other drivers.
