The Triumph Rocket III has 4 recalls spanning 2005 through 2020, with the most serious being a handlebar clamp bolt issue on 2006 models where under-torqued bolts can allow the handlebars to work loose during riding, causing loss of steering control.
The 2020 model year has two brake-related recalls, both affecting the rear brake system. On some 2020 motorcycles, air trapped in the rear brake system can produce a soft, spongy pedal feel and reduce braking force. Separately within the same model year, the rear brake master cylinder can require excessive pedal travel before the rear brake engages, which extends stopping distances.
Going back to the earliest production year, 2005 models have a final drive unit oil seal that can be damaged, allowing oil to leak from the drive shaft connection. If the leak goes unnoticed and the unit runs dry, the final drive can seize and lock the rear wheel while the motorcycle is in motion.
