The Victory Eightball has 1 recall covering the 2006 model year, where the rear axle material can be insufficient and cause one or both retaining ears to break, leaving the rear wheel assembly unsecured and creating a serious risk of wheel separation while riding. The failure can occur during the axle nut tightening procedure, meaning the wheel may not be properly retained even on a freshly serviced motorcycle. If both retaining slots break off, the rear wheel can shift or detach, with little warning to the rider.
