The accessory seats involved are the Kingpin Touring Double Backrest and the Jackpot Touring seat with backrest, and the recall covers bikes manufactured through May 2011. On 2004 models only, a welded joint on the shift lever shaft can fracture and leave the transmission locked in whatever gear was engaged at the time, making it impossible to shift up or down for the remainder of the ride.
