VOLKSWAGEN EOS Recalls

The Volkswagen EOS has 3 recalls spanning the 2007-2014 production run, the most serious being a driver's frontal airbag inflator defect on 2012-2014 models where the inflator can rupture on deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, raising the risk of serious injury to occupants. The 2009 EOS equipped with the Direct-Shift Gearbox has a wiring harness issue where connector wires on a transmission temperature sensor were not properly crimped, which can lead to unreliable sensor readings or transmission control problems. There is also a compliance recall affecting certain early-production 2012 models where pre-sale modifications may have left the vehicles out of conformance with regulatory requirements.
