3 recalls across 3 model years
The Volvo V50 has 3 recalls spanning the 2005-2009 model years, with the most serious being a 2005-only fuel line routed near the turbo and exhaust manifold that can be damaged by heat, leak fuel, and start an engine fire.
On 2009 models with power front passenger seats, the seat frame rails may be missing their end stops, allowing the seat to travel beyond its intended range and raising the risk of injury for out-of-position occupants in a frontal crash. On a small number of 2008 models with factory roof rails, the mounting bolts were produced out of specification, reducing their clamping force so the rails can break free during hard braking and become a hazard to other vehicles.
