3 recalls across 3 model years
The Volvo V50 has 3 recalls spanning the 2005-2009 production run, with the most serious being a fuel line on 2005 models routed near the turbocharger and exhaust manifold that can sustain heat damage, leak fuel, and start an engine fire. On 2009 models equipped with power front passenger seats, the seat frame rails may be missing their end stops, allowing the seat to travel beyond its intended limit and raising the risk of injury to an out-of-position passenger in a frontal crash. A small number of 2008 models with factory roof rails have bolts that lack sufficient thread engagement, which can allow the rails to break loose during hard braking or a sudden stop, creating a hazard for vehicles behind.
