4 recalls across 6 model years
The Volvo VNX has 4 recalls covering 2015 through 2020 model years, with the most serious being a missing roll pin on the steering shaft of 2016-2017 vehicles that can cause the lower steering shaft to separate from the junction block, resulting in complete loss of steering control.
On 2015-2016 models, certain air brake actuators can have a diaphragm that is not fully attached, allowing internal air leakage that traps pressure in the parking brake section and can prevent the parking brake from releasing or applying correctly. The 2017 model year has a separate brake concern: incorrect software controlling the electronic air dryer can allow oil and water to contaminate the brake lines, reducing braking performance. On 2018-2020 models configured as 740 and 760 sleeper variants, the bunk window can detach from the vehicle while in motion and strike other vehicles or pedestrians nearby.
