4 recalls across 6 model years
The Volvo VNX has 4 recalls covering 2015 through 2020 model years, with the most serious being a missing roll pin on the steering shaft in 2016-2017 models that can allow the lower steering shaft to disconnect from the junction block, resulting in complete loss of steering.
The 2015-2016 model years have a brake actuator defect where the diaphragm inside certain Haldex air brake actuators may not be fully attached, allowing internal air leakage that can trap pressure in the parking brake section and compromise braking behavior. On 2017 models, incorrect software controlling the electronic air dryer can allow oil and water to contaminate the air brake system, reducing braking performance.
The most recent production years, 2018-2020, have a structural issue specific to 740 and 760 sleeper configurations where the bunk window can detach from the vehicle while in motion and strike other vehicles or pedestrians nearby.
