3 recalls across 4 model years
The Yamaha FZ-09 has 3 recalls covering 2014–2017 model years, with the most serious being a handlebar holder that can loosen and cause loss of steering control on 2014–2017 motorcycles. The lower handlebar holder on 2014 models and 2015–2017 models shares the same underlying issue: excess paint thickness and insufficient thread-locking compound allow the mounting bolts to work loose over time, leaving the handlebars insecure.
A separate recall affects certain 2015 models built between September and November 2014, where a transmission stopper component can fracture and prevent the gearbox from shifting correctly, raising the risk of a crash.
