3 recalls across 4 model years
The Yamaha FZ-09 has 3 recalls covering 2014–2017 model years, with the most serious being a handlebar holder that can loosen and cause loss of steering control, affecting all model years from 2014 through 2017.
The handlebar loosening issue runs across the entire production span of this model. On 2015–2017 examples, the lower handlebar holder can work loose due to a painting defect and insufficient thread-locking compound on the fasteners, leaving the bars able to shift or rotate unexpectedly. The 2014 model year has the same underlying problem through a separate filing. On 2015 models, there is also a transmission stopper that can fracture, causing the gearbox to stop shifting correctly and raising the risk of a crash.
