YAMAHA SMAX Recalls

The Yamaha SMAX has 2 recalls, both affecting the 2015 model year, with the more serious being a primary sheave nut in the clutch assembly that can loosen and fall off, causing the engine to stall and potentially leaving the rider unable to restart. The second recall involves an incorrectly fitted speed sensor cable clamp that can shift position during steering, bending and eventually breaking the cable so the speedometer stops displaying vehicle speed, which can lead to riding faster than the rider realizes.
