YAMAHA VIRAGO (XV535W) Recalls

The Yamaha Virago (XV535W) has 1 recall affecting the 1989 model year, where the fuel petcock on the underside of the tank can fail to seal properly, allowing fuel to leak externally and creating a fire risk near hot engine components. When the petcock leaks, fuel can drip or pool in the engine area, where it can ignite from heat or a spark. The petcock is the valve that controls fuel flow from the tank, and a leak there can occur even when the motorcycle is simply parked with fuel present in the system.
