3 recalls across 9 model years
The Yamaha WR250R has 3 recalls spanning the 2008–2016 production run, with the most serious being a clutch push lever oil seal that can crack on 2014–2016 models, allowing engine oil to leak onto the rear tire and cause a sudden loss of traction and control.
The 2008–2015 model years have a separate electrical issue where the stator coil inside the alternator has insulation that can break down and short circuit. When this happens, the alternator stops charging the battery, the battery drains, and the engine can stall without warning.
