YAMAHA YZFR1M Recalls

The Yamaha YZFR1M has 1 recall affecting 2015 model year motorcycles built between January 19 and March 23, 2015, where a nut on the rear shock absorber's damper rod can loosen, causing the shock to lose damping ability or fall apart entirely, which can destabilize the motorcycle and lead to a crash. When the damper rod nut loosens, the rear suspension loses its ability to control body movement over bumps and during braking, and in a worst-case scenario the shock absorber can disassemble itself while the motorcycle is in motion.
