Defect
On certain vehicles, water could leak into the door handle(s). If this happens, the door(s) could open unexpectedly while driving. Note: This problem could cause a clicking noise that sounds like a door being locked or unlocked.
Safety Risk
A door that opens while driving could create a risk of injury.
Remedy
Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the door handles. The dealer will also update the vehicle software.
