Defect
On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the driver and/or front passenger seatbelt pretensioner(s). As a result, the airbag warning light could turn on, and the seatbelt pretensioners could deploy without a crash. Note: This recall is an expansion Transport Canada recall no. 2024-084. Certain vehicles repaired under that recall also require this repair.
Safety Risk
Seat belt pretensioners that don't work properly could create an increased risk of injury. Additionally, seat belt pretensioners that deploy without a crash could startle the driver and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver and front passenger seatbelt retractors.
