Defect
On certain vehicles, the intermediate shaft may have been improperly riveted during manufacturing. An improperly riveted intermediate shaft could separate from the intermediate shaft flex coupling, which could result in a loss of steering control without warning, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Dealers will inspect the intermediate shaft, and replace if required.
