Defect

On certain vehicles, the second row right-hand seat may have been manufactured incorrectly. Improper weld penetration between the head restraint guide sleeve tube and the seat back frame could allow the headrest to fail during a rear-end vehicle crash, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat back frame for the second row right-hand seat.
