Acura ZDX Recalls

The Acura ZDX has 17 recalls spanning the 2010-2013 and 2024 model years, with the most serious being a brake system defect on 2024 all-wheel-drive models where the anti-lock brake system can activate unexpectedly, release brake pressure, and cause a significant loss of braking ability.

Two additional brake-related recalls affect 2024 models. A software error can cause the anti-lock brake system to malfunction and reduce or eliminate braking force, and loose front stabilizer bar bracket bolts can detach from the frame and damage high-voltage cables or battery coolant lines, cutting drive power without warning. The 2024 model year also has two rearview camera recalls: the camera can display a blank or distorted image when reversing, and the instrument panel display itself can fail, removing the speedometer and warning lights from view.

The 2010-2013 model years carry a substantial cluster of Takata airbag inflator recalls affecting both the driver and front passenger sides. These inflators can rupture during deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, with the risk of serious injury or death. Prior repair attempts on some of these vehicles did not fully resolve the issue, which is why multiple rounds of recalls were issued for the same underlying defect across this generation.

The 2010 model year has an additional airbag concern unrelated to the inflators: the dashboard covering material may not have been properly scored during production, which can prevent the front passenger airbag from deploying fully in a crash. A separate recall also covers a passenger-side inflator that was incorrectly installed on 2010-2012 models, which can prevent proper airbag deployment in a crash.
