The 2010 Acura ZDX has 11 recalls, all involving the frontal airbag system, with the most serious being a defect where the driver and passenger airbag inflators can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
The remaining recalls involve two related passenger airbag concerns. On certain vehicles built during a specific production window, the dashboard material covering the passenger airbag may not be properly scored, which can prevent the airbag from fully deploying in a crash and reduce protection for the front passenger. There is also a separate issue where a passenger airbag inflator may have been incorrectly installed, again preventing proper deployment in a crash.
