AUDI S5 CABRIOLET Recalls

The Audi S5 Cabriolet has 3 recalls covering 2017 through 2021 model years, with the most serious being a rear axle lock nut that can break on 2019-2021 vehicles, knocking the rear axle out of alignment and causing loss of control. The 2018 model year, when equipped with Super Sport seats, has a separate concern: the seat-mounted side airbag in the front passenger seat can deploy incorrectly in a crash if the airbag cushion was folded wrong during assembly, raising the risk of injury rather than reducing it. On 2017 models, a component inside the front, rear, and rear center seatbelt pretensioners can break loose after the pretensioner fires in a crash and become a projectile inside the cabin, even though the belt itself continues to restrain the occupant.
