BMW 750li Recalls

The BMW 750Li has 8 recalls spanning 2005 through 2021, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2020-2021 models where the brake booster can lose hydraulic pressure, disabling anti-lock brakes and reducing braking assistance in a way that raises the risk of a crash.

On 2020-2021 models, the rearview camera software can produce a missing or reduced image while reversing, removing the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle. Going back slightly, 2019-2020 models have a separate camera hardware issue where the backup camera display can go completely dark while reversing.

The 2020-2021 model years also have a compliance issue with the rear center seat's child restraint tether anchor, which may not be readily accessible, meaning a child seat installed there without using the three-point belt may not be properly secured in a crash.

On 2016 models manufactured between July and December 2015, the airbag control module can randomly reset due to an electrical short, and if a crash occurs during that reset window, the front airbags may not deploy.

The 2013-2015 model years were subject to a recall involving incorrect replacement left rear taillight assemblies that may have been installed during prior service, making the vehicle less visible to drivers behind it.

Going further back, 2009-2012 models have a turbocharger circuit board that can overheat and start a fire. On 2005-2008 models equipped with both Comfort Access and Soft Close Automatic door features, a door can appear fully latched but remain unlatched, and road vibration or contact with the door can cause it to swing open while driving.
