5 recalls across 2 model years
The Cadillac DTS has 5 recalls across the 2006-2010 model years, with the most serious being a fire risk on 2006 models where a power steering pressure hose can separate at its crimp, leak fluid onto a hot engine component, and ignite an under-hood fire. That same hose separation on 2006 V8-equipped vehicles can also cause a loss of power steering assist, making the car noticeably harder to steer at low speeds. There is also a separate fire concern on 2006 models equipped with the heated washer fluid system, where a short circuit on the heater's circuit board can overheat the ground wire, causing other electrical features to malfunction and potentially producing smoke or fire. An earlier repair attempt for this heated washer fluid issue did not fully resolve the problem, and new thermal incidents were reported after that fix was installed. On 2010 models, the tire and loading information label was omitted from the vehicle, meaning owners lack the reference needed to confirm correct tire inflation and load limits.
