11 recalls across 9 model years
The Cadillac XT4 has 11 recalls spanning the 2019–2025 model years, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2025 models where the instrument panel cover may be missing the perforation that allows the passenger-side airbag to deploy, reducing crash protection for the front passenger.
On the 2022 model year, the driver's seat cushion frame may have a faulty weld in the power tilt-adjustment mechanism, meaning the seat may not hold the driver in place during a crash. The 2020 model year has two notable issues: contamination in the electronic brake boost sensor connection can cut off brake assist, requiring significantly more pedal force to stop the vehicle; and certain tires may be over-cured, leading to sidewall cracking or tread separation while driving.
The 2019–2021 model years share a rear seatbelt concern where the retractor fasteners may be loose or missing, preventing the belt from functioning properly in a crash. On 2019 models specifically, the rear seatbelt retractor mounting bolts may be absent entirely, affecting both left and right rear positions. The 2019–2020 model years also have a start/stop accumulator endcap that may be missing bolts, which can cause a transmission fluid leak and eventual loss of drive power. Vehicles from 2019–2020 equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature may lose the rearview camera image while backing up due to a communication failure between the video processing module and the camera; a related software issue on 2019 models can also prevent the camera image from appearing.
The 2021 model year has a compliance recall where automatic headlamps may not activate quickly enough as ambient light drops, reducing visibility at dusk. The 2024 model year may have the wrong owner's manual in the glove box, which can contain inaccurate information about child restraint anchor systems and other safety functions.
