The Chevrolet Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle has 8 recalls covering the 2014–2017 model years, with the most serious being a recurring electric power steering defect on 2014–2016 models where corrosion at the connector between the steering module and torque sensor can cause the power assist to cut out, requiring significantly more physical effort to steer, particularly at low speeds.

The electric power steering issue on 2014–2016 vehicles was the subject of multiple repair attempts, and prior fixes did not fully resolve the problem for all affected vehicles. A final remedy was issued for any 2014–2016 examples that had not yet received a replacement steering gear under the earlier campaigns.

The 2014–2017 model years are also subject to a front airbag and seatbelt pretensioner recall where the pretensioners and airbags can fail to deploy in a crash, leaving the driver and front passenger without full restraint protection. A separate front seatbelt issue on 2014–2016 models involves the driver's seatbelt tensioner cable, which can fatigue and separate as it bends repeatedly over the seat side shield during entry and exit. An earlier repair attempt for this cable issue was found to have been improperly performed in some cases, prompting a follow-up recall to address vehicles where the original fix did not hold.
