The Chevrolet Express Cutaway has 3 recalls spanning the 2003-2024 model years, with the most serious being a wiring defect on 2003-2023 vehicles where the unused blower motor circuit for an optional rear HVAC system can corrode and overheat, creating a fire risk.

On the brake side, 2013-2019 models equipped with optional GM-provided body mounts can develop a clearance problem between the brake line and the mount hardware, causing the line to wear and leak brake fluid. If enough fluid is lost, brakes can fail. On 2024 models, an incorrect interior mirror may have been installed that omits the required rearview camera display, leaving the driver without a view behind the vehicle.
