The Chevrolet Express Cutaway has 3 recalls spanning 2003 through 2024, with the most serious being a wiring defect on 2003-2023 models where unused rear HVAC blower motor circuits with exposed connectors can corrode and overheat, raising the risk of a fire.

On 2013-2019 models equipped with optional GM-provided body mounts, the brake line can sit too close to those mounts, leading to physical damage, brake fluid loss, and potential brake failure. On 2024 models, an incorrect inside rearview mirror may have been installed that lacks the required rear camera display, reducing visibility behind the vehicle when reversing.
