The Ducati Monster 1200 has 3 recalls covering 2014–2021 model years, with the most serious being a rear brake hose defect on 2014–2021 models where heat exposure can damage the hose and cause a sudden, complete loss of rear braking. The brake hose issue affects the full production run of the Monster 1200 across standard, S, and R variants, and a prior repair attempt did not fully resolve the problem for all affected years. When the hose fails, stopping distances increase abruptly, raising the risk of a crash. Separately, 2014 model year motorcycles equipped with an aftermarket clip-on handlebar adapter plate have a riser that can crack and break, which can cause the rider to lose steering control.
