The Ford Aeromax has 3 recalls spanning the 1991-1998 production run, with the most serious affecting 1998 models where the air brake system was plumbed incorrectly, leaving the air reservoirs without proper isolation and potentially undermining brake system redundancy. On 1996 chassis cabs and truck tractors, the air brakes take roughly twice as long to release as required, at approximately 1.5 seconds instead of the mandated 0.75 seconds, which can affect braking response and control. Going back to the earliest production, 1991 models have a compliance issue with exhaust emissions standards.
