FORD EXCURSION Recalls

The Ford Excursion has 3 recalls spanning the 1997-2002 model years, with the most serious affecting 1997 diesel-equipped models where the camshaft position sensor can fail intermittently, causing the engine to stall without warning while driving. The two remaining recalls both involve lighting controls. On 2002 models, the multi-function switch can malfunction and fail, affecting the controls it governs. On 2000 models, the headlamp switch knob was made from a more brittle plastic than intended, which can fracture after installation and separate from the switch, making it difficult to turn the headlamps on or off.
