3 recalls across 3 model years
The Ford FT900 has 3 recalls covering the 1992-1994 model years, with the most serious being a throttle control issue on 1993 models where the hand throttle cable wears through a brass swivel block on the governor lever, causing the governor to jam and potentially preventing the engine from returning to idle.
On 1992 models, engine vibration can fracture one of the two throttle return springs, which reduces the resistance felt at the accelerator pedal and can interfere with normal throttle operation. The 1994 model year has an electrical concern where the wiring connector for the tilt hood lamps was assembled without sealing plugs, allowing moisture, road salt, and other contaminants to enter the connection and cause crossed circuits, shorts, or corrosion that can cause headlamps and other front-end lighting to malfunction.
