The Honda CB1000SP has 4 recalls, all affecting the 2025 model year, with the most serious being an engine defect where piston and connecting rod bearing failure can cause the rear wheel to lock up suddenly or allow oil to reach hot exhaust components and start a fire. A related engine issue on the same 2025 models involves excessive oil consumption that can lead to engine failure and abrupt rear wheel lockup while riding. There is also a fuel feed hose that can disconnect from the tank, spilling fuel near the rear tire or onto an ignition source, creating both a crash and fire risk. Rounding out the four recalls, the gearshift pedal pivot bolt can loosen and fall off on 2025 models, leaving the rider unable to change gears while in motion.
