The 2025 Honda CB1000SP has 4 recalls, the most serious involving engine defects that can cause the rear wheel to lock up suddenly or leak oil onto hot exhaust components, raising the risk of a crash or fire.

Two of the recalls center on engine and internal component failures. In one, excess oil consumption can lead to engine failure and the rear wheel seizing without warning. In the other, faulty pistons and piston rings can cause a connecting rod bearing to fail, which can also lock up the rear wheel or push oil onto the exhaust, where it can ignite. On a motorcycle, either of those outcomes at speed leaves very little margin for the rider to recover. A third recall covers the fuel system: the fuel feed hose can pull free from the tank, spilling gasoline near the rear tire. That creates both a traction hazard and a fire risk if the fuel reaches a hot surface or ignition source. The fourth recall involves the gearshift pedal, where the pivot bolt can loosen and fall out entirely. Without it, the pedal cannot engage the transmission, leaving the rider unable to change gears while moving.
