6 recalls across 7 model years
The Honda CMX300 has 6 recalls spanning 2018 through 2025, with the most serious recent issue being a handlebar lock screw on 2023-2025 models that can loosen and fall out, potentially wedging between the frame and steering stem and interfering with steering control.
The 2023 model year also has an engine crankcase cover defect where a press-fit plug can fall out, allowing oil to drip onto the exhaust pipe or rear tire. Oil on the exhaust creates a fire risk, and oil on the rear tire can cause the bike to lose traction and crash.
The 2020-2021 model years have a rear reflector that may not meet brightness standards, reducing how visible the motorcycle is to drivers behind it, particularly in low-light conditions.
Going back to early production, 2018-2019 models have a transmission circlip that can detach from the main shaft, causing gear misalignment. This can either shift the transmission into gear unexpectedly during engine start, causing the motorcycle to lurch forward, or lock up the rear wheel while riding and destabilize the bike.
