The 2023 Honda CMX300 has 3 recalls, with two serious safety concerns: an oil leak that can cause a fire or loss of rear-wheel traction, and a handlebar lock screw that can detach and jam the steering.
The oil leak stems from a crankcase cover plug that can fall out, allowing oil to drip onto the exhaust pipe or rear tire. Oil on the exhaust creates a fire risk, while oil on the rear tire reduces grip and can cause the rider to lose control. The handlebar lock screw, if it loosens and falls free, can wedge between the frame and steering stem, making the bars difficult or impossible to turn.
