5 recalls across 2 model years
The Honda ST1300 has 5 recalls covering the 2003 and 2008 model years, with the most pressing concern for 2008 owners being a rear brake hose that can chafe against the swingarm under load on rough roads, eventually leaking fluid and extending stopping distances.
The 2003 model year carries three separate recalls. A seal in the proportioning control valve, which manages rear brake force when the combined-brake system is applied, can leak brake fluid until the rear brake becomes completely inoperative. Separately, the main wire harness has a ground distribution connector that can overheat and short out multiple electrical circuits including the fuel pump, causing the engine to stall without warning. There is also a wiring harness routing issue where a connector can rub against the fuel tank, eventually blowing an ignition fuse and stalling the engine without warning as well.
