9 recalls across 7 model years
The INFINITI M35 has 9 recalls spanning 2006 through 2013, with the most serious being a Takata passenger-side airbag inflator defect on 2006–2010 models where the inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Recalls 2 and 3 apply exclusively to the 2012–2013 M35 Hybrid. On those vehicles, the hybrid powertrain control module can overheat and shut the engine off while driving. The driveshaft on those same Hybrid models can fatigue and break, either cutting drive power or disabling the parking brake and allowing the vehicle to roll away when parked.
The 2006–2010 model years carry two additional issues. The accelerator pedal sensor can degrade over time and send incorrect signals, pushing the engine into a reduced-power mode where throttle deposits can then cause the engine to stall when slowing to a stop or sitting at idle. On 2010 models registered in certain northern states, the tire pressure monitoring system can trigger a false low-pressure warning; if ignored, the tire can lose air steadily and go flat, raising the risk of a blowout.
