The 2008 Infiniti M35 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a Takata passenger-side airbag inflator that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue, and multiple campaigns have addressed it across different vehicle populations. The airbag inflator concern applies to this vehicle and should be treated as the top priority. On the mechanical side, the accelerator pedal position sensor can degrade over time and send an incorrect signal to the engine, pushing it into a reduced-power mode. In that state, deposits on the throttle valve can cause the engine to stall when slowing to a stop or sitting at idle, raising the risk of a crash.
