Summary
The INFINITI QX60 has 10 recalls spanning 2013 through 2025, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2025 models where one or both front brake calipers can break and cause a complete loss of front braking ability. The 2024 model year has a separate brake-adjacent concern: the driver seatbelt pretensioner may not have been built correctly and can fail to tighten the belt in a crash, reducing restraint when it matters most. On 2022-2024 vehicles, the adaptive front-lighting system can tilt the headlights downward at high speed, narrowing the driver's view of the road ahead.
The 2023 model has a second-row seat that can slide past its intended rearmost position, become stuck, or fail to lock in place, which means it may not hold an occupant securely in a crash. Stepping back to 2020-2021 models, the front steering knuckle or rear axle housing can deform after striking a curb or similar impact, leading to loss of steering control or wheel separation.
Earlier production from 2014-2015 has a brake caliper issue of a different kind: front wheel hub fasteners that were not tightened to the correct specification during assembly can allow a brake caliper to separate from the wheel, reducing both braking and steering control. On 2013-2015 vehicles, the passenger seat sensor can misread an adult occupant as absent, deactivating the front passenger airbag. This issue appeared in two forms across that generation, one involving a software error and one involving an incorrect replacement control unit installed during a prior repair. The 2013-2014 model years also have a hood secondary latch that can fail after the primary latch is released, allowing the hood to fly open while driving and blocking the driver's view.
