Infiniti M45 Recalls

The INFINITI M45 has 7 recalls spanning 2003 through 2010, with the most serious being a Takata passenger-side airbag inflator defect on 2006-2010 models where the inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.

The airbag inflator issue has geographic scoping tied to high-humidity regions: the 2006 model year is specifically flagged for vehicles originally sold or registered in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and similarly humid areas, while the broader 2006-2010 range covers an expanded set of high-humidity states and territories. All of these represent the same underlying Takata inflator failure mode. The 2006 model year also has a throttle position sensor that can fail and cause the engine to drop to idle unexpectedly while driving.

Going back to earlier production, 2003-2004 models have a fuel gauge circuit board failure that causes the gauge to read higher than the actual fuel level, potentially causing the vehicle to stall without warning. The 2003 model year has a related issue where the gauge can read high or stick at full, again masking how little fuel remains.
