Infiniti Q70 Recalls

The INFINITI Q70 has 6 recalls spanning the 2014–2019 model years, with the most serious being a driveshaft that can fatigue and break on 2014–2018 models, causing sudden loss of drive power or, when parked without the parking brake applied, an unexpected rollaway.

The same driveshaft failure risk applies specifically to 2014 two-wheel-drive models with either a hybrid or VK56 engine, where a break can also disable the parking brake function. Recalls 2 and 4 describe the same underlying failure on overlapping year ranges and have been treated as a single issue here.

The 2014 hybrid models carry two additional powertrain concerns. A software error in the engine control module can cause the throttle to rise on its own, increasing vehicle speed without any driver input. Separately, a different software fault can cause the electric motor to cut out while the car is running on electric power alone, producing a sudden stall-like loss of propulsion.

On 2019 models, the backup camera can fail to display an image when reversing, removing the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle. The 2016 Q70L long-wheelbase trim has a compliance label issue where the printed gross vehicle and axle weight ratings may be incorrect, though no physical defect or safety consequence has been identified beyond the inaccurate information.
