The 2014 INFINITI Q70 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a driveshaft that can fatigue and break, cutting drive power or disabling the parking brake and allowing the vehicle to roll away when parked.
The driveshaft concern affects both standard and hybrid versions of this model in two-wheel drive configuration. A broken shaft can leave the car coasting with no propulsion, and because the parking brake on these vehicles is mechanically linked through the driveline, a break can also prevent the brake from holding the car on a slope.
Both remaining recalls apply only to hybrid models. A software error in the electric motor control can cause the car to cut out suddenly while running on electric power alone, producing a stall-like drop in speed that can catch other drivers off guard. Separately, a programming flaw in the engine control module can cause the throttle to open on its own without any input from the driver, gradually building vehicle speed in a way the driver has not requested and may not immediately recognize as a malfunction.
