2 recalls across 3 model years
The Kawasaki Ninja has 2 recalls covering 2018–2020 model years, with the most serious being an ECU software defect on 2018–2020 H2 SX, H2 SX SE, and 2019–2020 H2 SX SE+ models where a gear misengagement can cause the engine to rev uncontrollably, damage the transmission, and lock up the engine while riding.
The 2018 H2 SX SE also has a separate structural issue where the center stand spring pin can be poorly welded, shift out of position, and allow the spring to detach and the center stand to drop and drag on the ground while the motorcycle is in motion, which can cause a sudden loss of control.
