The 2008 model year carries three separate recalls. The front brake hose can contact the edge of the fork when the suspension compresses, wearing through the hose and leaking brake fluid, which reduces stopping power. Also on 2008 models, a blocked crankcase vent in the air cleaner case can allow pressure to build inside the engine until it pushes the cylinder head cover gasket out of position, which can cause an oil leak. A lower-severity recall covers the 2008 taillight bulb, which can fail prematurely and leave the motorcycle invisible to following traffic at night or in low-visibility conditions.
