3 recalls across 1 model year
The Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic has 3 recalls, all affecting the 2003 model year, with the most serious being a fuel tank that can crack at its mounting tabs, allowing fuel to leak and potentially catch fire near an ignition source. Also on 2003 models, during cold starts the oil pressure relief valve can respond slowly, momentarily spiking oil pressure high enough to deform the oil filter's base plate and cause an oil leak onto the road, creating a slip hazard. The muffler bracket on these same 2003 machines can crack and allow the muffler to work loose, eventually separating from the motorcycle entirely while riding.
