KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE Recalls

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure has 4 recalls covering the 2015-2016 model years, with the most serious being fuel leaks on both years where fuel escaping near the tank cover mounting area can ignite and cause a fire. The fuel system has a second issue on 2015 models where a tank defect can also result in leaking fuel and the same fire risk. On the suspension side, the 2015-2016 rear shock absorber can leak oil from its rebound damping plug, losing enough fluid to degrade shock function and make the motorcycle handle unpredictably, raising the risk of a crash. This rear shock concern was filed across two overlapping campaigns covering slightly different date ranges of 2015-2016 production, but the underlying failure is the same: oil loss leading to degraded suspension response.
