The 2015 KTM 1290 Super Adventure has 5 recalls, with the most serious being two separate fuel leak risks: one from the fuel tank cover mounting area and one from a tank manufacturing defect, either of which can ignite and cause a fire.
On the brake side, the wiring harness can fray and make contact with the ABS modulator. The heat generated can melt the brake line, causing brake failure and raising the risk of a crash. The rear shock absorber rounds out the list, appearing in two filings that describe the same problem: oil leaking from the rebound damping plug. As oil drains out, the shock loses its ability to absorb bumps and control the rear wheel's movement, which can make the motorcycle unstable and difficult to handle, particularly in corners or on uneven pavement.
